Our premium Ceremonial Matcha has been sourced from Shizuoka in collaboration with one of industries leading tea tasters.
More than 40% of total matcha production is in Shizuoka. The region has a warm and humid climate with plenty of rainfall, providing ideal conditions for growing green tea. Shizuoka’s famously deep flavoured and fragrant gyokuro shaded tea leaves is perfect to grow matcha powder as it offers sweet taste that’s minimally bitter.
Why Ceremonial:
Ceremonial Matcha contains the softest (hence sweet and none bitter) parts of the leaves; harsher stems and veins (bitter) are filtered out. Culinary matcha contains harshest parts of the tea leaf and usually used for cooking.
